Note(s) : Ière édition, qui diffère du manuscrit par deux tables en latin où sont reportées lisiblement les provinces de l'Empire d'Orient et d'Occident qui apparaissent sur le fond de carte en chiffres romains. - Diffère également par l'ajout d'un titre qui surmonte la carte, par les contours rouges, jaunes et verts des frontières, et par le contour bleu des côtes. - Différents ajouts manuscrits sur cet exemplaire. - 1- Sous le cadre de la carte, en bas à droite, à la plume "nom/nomen/nomen./n nom men". - 2- Sur le fond de carte, à l'encre brune "Scotia", "Britannia". - Sur le fond de carte, à la mine "Wenta teenarum/enta Teenarum". - Version imprimée en 1777 destinée à l'ouvrage d'Edward Gibbon "The history of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire", London, Stahen, 1777-1778. - Carte non achevée en raison du conflit de 1778 entre la France et l'Angleterre (guerre d'indépendance américaine)
