Old English and Anglo-Latin text and manuscript studies have been a major field of
research at the University of Munich ever since Helmut Gneuss became Professor of
English Linguistics and Medieval English Literature at the English Department in 1965
... It thus seemed appropriate to celebrate Helmut Gneuss's 90th birthday with a symposium
on "Anglo-Saxon Micro-Texts", held at the University of Munich on 3-4 November 2017,
in appreciation of his inestimable contributions to Anglo-Saxon studies and English
historical linguistics as a collector, compiler, author, reviewer, bibliographer,
research and mentor ... The present collection comprises many of the papers presented
at the symposium ..
