The first eight leaves of this journal have been lost, making identification of the author uncertain, but Fletcher was the only senior officer associated with the regiment at this time who could have written the journal. Les Français reprirent la ville de Québec en 1760, Bataille de Sainte Foy, mais ne purent résister aux nouvelles troupes britanniques arrivées en mai 1760. Le document est probablement écrit par Le Lieutenant colonel Henry Fletcher. L'absence des 8 premières pages rendent difficiles l'identification de l'auteur, mais Fletcher est le seul officier supérieur qui aurait pu écrire ce document
