"In this book, Matthias Becker, for the first time, approaches Luke-Acts through the lens of Dio Chrysostom's writings. Combining reader-response criticism with a comparative and discourseoriented analysis, the author shows that Luke shares many of his rhetorical, ethical and theological themes with his educated pagan contemporaries. As a result, the degree of inculturation that characterizes Lukan Christianity appears in a new light."
