Société fondée par Ottmar Mergenthaler en 1886 suite à son invention dénommée "linotype"
commercialisée dès 1886, fusion des activités des sociétés "The Mergenthaler Printing
Company" et "The National Typographic Company". En 1987 naît la société "Linotype
AG" qui absorbera finalement en 1995 la "Mergenthaler Linotype company".
