Nelson, Castello di (Bronte, Italie)

En 1040 Giorgio Maniace bâtit la forteresse de Castello Maniace ; en 1174 une abbaye
bénédictine y fut établie par Marguerite de Navarre, mère de Guillaume II de Sicile
; en 1799, Ferdinand III céda l'abbaye à Lord Nelson et créa pour lui le duché de
Maniace ; les bâtiments de l'ancienne abbaye, transformés en Castello, furent vendus
en 1981 par les héritiers de Nelson à la commune de Bronte.
