Club de femmes bibliophiles et collectionneuses de livres. - Le Hroswitha Club a été
créé en 1944 à New York, N.Y. , par Mrs. Robert Herndon Fife (Sarah Gildersleeve Fife),
Mrs. Roy Arthur Hunt, Mrs. Allan Marquand, Belle da Costa Greene, Henrietta C. Bartlett,
Ruth Grannis et Mrs. Sherman Post Haight (Anne Lyon Haight). - Il a été appelé ainsi
en l'honneur de Hrotsvita Gandeshemensis (ca 935-ca 974). - Le Club a créé en 1948
une bibliothèque, nommée en 1949 "Sarah Gildersleeve Fife Memorial Library". - Il
a été actif jusqu'en 2004. - Les archives de la correspondance et des activités du
Club se trouvent principalement au Grolier Club de New York, N.Y..
