Poète anglo-saxon, actif dans la seconde moitié du VIIIe siècle. - On lui a attribué
jadis un grand nombre de poèmes, dont "Andreas", "Guthlac", "The phoenix" et "The
dream of the rood". La critique moderne restreint l'attribution aux quatre poèmes
de l'Exeter book et du Vercelli book qui se terminent par son nom en runes : "Juliana",
"Elene", The fates of the Apostles" et "Christ II".
