Groupe fondé en 1937 par Douglas Goldring (1887-1960), Robert Byron (1905-1941) et
George Harcourt Johnstone Derwent (1899-1949). - Faisait originellement partie de
la "Society for the protection of ancient buildings". - Depuis 1971, le "Georgian
group" est une "national amenity society", agissant en tant que consultant statutaire
dans le processus de planification en Angleterre et au Pays de Galles, lorsque des
propositions de modification ou de démolition de bâtiments classés datant, en tout
ou en partie, d'entre 1700 et 1840 sont examinées.
