Culture Chaco
Vedette matière nom commun. S'emploie en tête de vedette.
Culture préhistorique identifiée dans le Nord-Ouest du Nouveau Mexique, du nom du
Chaco Canyon, au centre du bassin de San Juan. Elle fait partie de la culture des
Anasazis, ancêtres des indiens Pueblo, et s'est développée entre 850 et 1250 ap.
J.C.. Le canyon était au centre d'un réseau de routes reliant les sites majeurs des
Anasazis et la culture est définie par des marqueurs architecturaux (un grand nombre
de grands villages/pueblos à plusieurs étages, des kivas) et de la céramique.
