rencontra le plus de succès est celle dite du « Necronomicon Simon ». Il s'agirait
d'une traduction grecque plus ancienne que celle de Philetas, remontant au IXe siècle.
Elle aurait été apportée aux États-Unis dans les années 1970 par un évêque orthodoxe
