Ancienne colonie américaine des Pays-Bas, implantée au XVIIe siècle le long de l'Hudson,
de la région de Fort Orange (auj. Albany) à celle de La Nouvelle-Amsterdam (auj. New
York), et recouvrant ainsi une bonne part de l'actuel État de New York, et débordant
sur ceux du New Jersey et du Connecticut. Les Hollandais durent la céder aux Anglais
en 1674.
