- Acteur et pickpocket condamné à la déportation en tant que bagnard en Australie
en 1790 et gracié vers 1796. - Il a laissé plusieurs récits de voyages sur l'Australie
et a inspiré l'image du héros picaresque pour les éditeurs britanniques.
