300 |. $a Abbaye de Bénédictins fondée en 1093 par le bienheureux André, prieur de Vallombreuse.
Après une période de prospérité, l'abbaye commença à décliner. Des nouveaux statuts
la réformant furent promulgués le 9 mai 1491, et en 1493, puis Charles VIII la prit
sous sa protection. Elle prospéra à nouveau et fonda en 1498 la congrégation de Chezal-Benoît.
En 1638, congrégation et abbaye furent unies à la congrégation de Saint-Maur. En 1768
il restait neuf moines à l'abbaye. Elle fut fermée à la Révolution. L'abbaye est en
ruines, l'abbatiale est devenue église paroissiale
