Marvão (Portugal)
Vedette matière nom géographique. S'emploie en tête de vedette ou en subdivision.
Village fortifié du Haut-Alentejo (Alentejo, district de Portalegre), dans la serra
de São Mamede près de la frontière espagnole. Perché sur un éperon rocheux au pied
de son "castelo", il se développa au Moyen âge et vit ses fortifications encore renforcées
au 17e siècle. Il doit son nom au conquérant arabe Ibn Maruán.
